Handling Loss with our homeless young adults
Walking Alongside Young Adults Through Loss

A ministry reflection on sharing difficult news, making room for grief and remembering a person’s influence.
Following outreach in San Marcos, the speaker reflects on announcing a client’s death and supporting people who responded in different ways. He describes sharing the news gently and proposing a quiet prayer vigil for individuals or small groups during the pandemic.
The reflection encourages people to share what they loved or will miss about someone and consider the influence they continue to carry. It presents the speaker’s pastoral approach to grief; it does not establish a diagnosis, a universal grief process or a clinical intervention.
