"“Big goals start with small steps—self-care, persistence, and support make the impossible possible.”"

September was all about building from the inside out—clients set more goals than ever, focusing on self-care, housing, and jobs as the foundation for long-term change.

🔑 September Goals Clients Are Working Toward

📊 At a Glance — Top September Goals Set

  • Self-care: 35 clients
  • Housing: 24 clients
  • Employment: 19 clients
  • College & Mental health treatment: 7 each

🌱 Big Growth in Self-Care

  • 35 clients set self-care goals (up from 20 in August).
  • Examples: eating better, calming routines like music, or surrounding yourself with supportive people.
  • Why it matters: self-care builds the energy, focus, and resilience needed for every other goal.

🏠 Housing Still in Sight

  • 24 clients set housing goals (up from 17 last month).
  • Even with shelters and lists full, clients keep naming housing as a top priority.
  • Persistence is the first step—keeping housing on the radar matters even when systems feel stuck.

💼 Jobs Are the Key

  • 19 clients set employment goals (steady compared to August).
  • Right now, jobs are gettable—and we believe jobs are the real key to unlocking housing.
  • SYMin is leaning in with:
    • Soft skills training (interview practice, teamwork, communication).
    • AI & internet productivity tools to build readiness for today’s job market.

📚 New & Emerging Goals

  • College (7) and mental health treatment (7) became stronger areas this month.
  • ID/document goals (6) also grew, showing clients are working on essentials that unlock other opportunities.
  • Smaller but important goals surfaced: child care, family reconciliation, benefits, eye care, dental treatment, and more.

💬 Final Word

This month shows that clients are building from the inside out: self-care first, housing and jobs next, with education and documents adding long-term stability.
