The goals our clients set for themselves each month offer powerful insight. When the goals they set and the goals they achieve align, it shows a healthy rhythm of planning, action, and progress. But when those lists don’t match up, it can reveal resistance, shifting needs, or new trends to watch.

In June, employment ranked #2 in goals achieved but only #3 in goals set. That tells us some clients may not be prioritizing work until they realize how essential it is — especially as safety nets shrink, waiting lists grow, and public funding for key programs is under debate. We’re strongly encouraging clients to take employment seriously as a path to long-term stability and independence.

We're also seeing a rise in college interest, which is exciting — but we’re urging caution. Student loans can become a trap, especially for clients just returning to school after time away. Our recommendation:

• Start at a community college
• Look for transition or readiness programs
• Avoid for-profit private schools that saddle students with big loans and low success rates

College can be a game-changer — but only when approached with the right support, the right strategy, and eyes wide open.
