April was a month of meaningful progress. Through honest conversations and personalized support, we walked alongside clients as they pursued their own goals toward healing, stability, and growth.
April was a meaningful and momentum-filled month with our clients. We connected with them through organic conversations, one-on-one guidance sessions, and active, intentional listening to understand their personal goals. Rather than offering a strict “how to get better” program, we honor each client's individual journey. We support their growth as they gain life experience, explore their identity, and seek purpose. We celebrate the unique steps they take toward building their futures. It’s an exciting process, and we’re privileged to walk alongside them.
Top Achievements - April 2025
Housing (#1 Goal This Month)
- 4 clients secured new housing, though new housing opportunities becoming harder to access.
- Many clients have relied on supported housing, which is now less available.
- We're guiding clients to:
- Use support programs when available
- Plan long-term: find work, save money and prepare to cover housing costs independently.
- 13 clients maintained their housing, though most are not yet paying rent
- We're concerned that:
- As programs phase out, some may face renewed risk of homelessness
- That's why we stress the importance of employment and financial readiness.
Self-Care (#2 Goal)
- Self-care is often the foundation for success in other areas (housing, employment and stability)
- We encourage clients to reflect on:
- How they feel, look and act
- What small steps can help them care for themselves better
- Improvements and often come from:
- Free or low-cost choices
- New routines, better time management
- Healthier social circles
Employment (#3 Goal)
- 8 clients started new jobs in April - a major win!
- Despite concerns about a cooling job market, entry-level opportunities remain strong
- Employment offers more that income, it builds routine, confidence and independence.
Medical Treatment (#4 Goal)
- Preventing health setbacks is key to keeping progress steady
- Most clients still rely on emergency rooms for care, which is not ideal.
- We advise:
- Using ER's only for true emergencies
- Seeking more consistent and preventive care when available
Mental Health Support (#5 Goal)
- Mental health made the top 5 goals - a rare but welcome shift
- While access to professional care is limited, we encourage:
- Seeking help when coping and self-care fall short
- Utilizing support groups, one-on-one guidance and building coping skills
- Around 40% of clients need deeper or long-term support
- Achievements this month were split between new and maintained treatment
- We remind clients that therapy isn't a quick fix, but staying the course is worth it.
Many other goals were pursued this month - and we celebrated each one. They reflect personal growth, emotional healing and practice steps toward independence. Each goal, no matter how small or uncommon, marks a meaningful step forward in maturity, confidence and hope.
We are a faith-based organization, and our work is deeply rooted in the presence of a living and redeeming God. We meet clients wherever they are in their spiritual journey - whether they are devoted Jesus followers, spiritually curious or questioning or even angry, hurting or distant from faith. All are welcome here. Faith is not only our foundation; it can also become a source of strength and healing for our clients. That, too, is reflected in the goals and growth we witness each day.
