We want you to know the impact you have. It's not all about numbers... it's about engagement and change. Every month we double-check that our model of attracting people and connecting with them is still working. And we tie that to outcomes.

Conclusions for January:

o The model is still working. We attracted more homeless young adults than any January since 2015. It was very busy overall. The Help Line activity was up significantly and contributed a lot to the client count.

o We engaged with clients, too! We label clients as a "prospect" until they have connected with our team for 40 hours of service and 10 deep conversations. Our ministry is not about handing stuff out (although we do that) but about the connection. You can see the groups reported below by connection and how they are engaging. Ineligible people are served on outreach with donated food and clothing, but they are over our age range. Serving them in this limited and cost-effective way is proven to allow us to connect to more people in our age range.

o We track each group for the amount of change they are making in their lives (like a job, medical care, mental health care, church connection, etc.). You can see it all broken down in the chart. Even though it takes time to connect and engage deeply, those that are almost always changing their lives. Comparing the engaged vs unengaged groups, it's 2.8X more engaged clients are changing their lives than prospects. And 18X more engaged clients are making sustained and growing change (six or more changes) than the unengaged prospect group.

o Your ministry delivers a lot of food and a lot of clothing. And it allows homeless youth to find a safe place to be in the daytime. The most important things that happens is that they get a chance to connect, engage, and be coached to make sustaining and valuable changes in their lives. These changes take root and last for a very long and productive lifetime!
