December Monthly Homeless Report
In December, our amazing team of 7 people served 409 people in total, the same as in November. On the street in outreach, we serve a mixture of people who are eligible for our more in-depth services and those who are overage. In December the ratio was 0.22, which means we serve 4 overage clients on the street in order to serve 1 client in our age range. The rest of our services are limited to those 28 and under.
Of our 90 eligible clients served, 33 came to our Sunshine Store or Event Center. 12 upgraded their experience to include groups. We served 48 of our clients on outreach. Each of these numbers was about 25% lower than November, likely due to being closed 10 days in December for holidays compared to only 2 days in November. Notably the number of clients served in the Sunshine Store and Event Center only dropped 10%.
In terms of clients served daily, we served 16 eligible clients daily in December, compared to a daily average of 19 i November.
The outcome ratios remained very good. 73 clients showed some change. 27 clients are fully engaged (taking advantage of 40 hours of service and 10 deep conversations about what matters to them) and 100% show change. 85% show sustained (six changes or more) change. Comparing engaged clients to the not (yet) fully engaged group, the engaged are 3.5X more likely to be making change and 13X more likely to be making sustained changes.
December is a month in which we are closed for holidays for 10 days. And the comparison period of November is one in which we're closed for 2 days.
