Cap Metro is rolling out three very good innovations for low income bus riders:

• Low-income Equifare for those who receive public assistance or make less than federal poverty guidelines. You must enroll and will then pay approxiately 2/3 fare.
• Fare-capping. Use an app on your smartphone to purchase fares. You never pay more than the cost of a Day Pass in a calendar day or a Month Pass in a calendar month.. So you don't have to come up with all the bus pass money up front to enjoy discounts.
• Free electronic bus passes for homeless or those in programs to end homelessness. These are a smart chip-enabled card and don't' require a smartphone to use. They are not transferrable and are replaceable if lost or stolen.

There are MANY locations to obtain your free electronic bus pass if you are already in the HMIS system. No need to go to the most well-known with the longest lines. Here are the ones at launch (Nov 1, 2023). Others are being added. SYMin has applied but not yet been accepted.
