Homelessness for younger people looks different than for older individuals. We've known that young adults need different services but data shows how different they are.
- Homelessness for younger people looks different than for older individuals
- More transitions: couch surfing, shelter, then street for several years
- Hard to track
- Often invisible in rural areas
- Can seem "housed" for a while and then not again
- There is a surge of people who are experiencing homelessness for the first time nationally.
- We believe this number is low and probably even higher now. Our weather report shows an increase in the rate of new clients compared to the past few years.
